Maculein EXTRA capsules are a specific dietetic product, dietary supplement and it’s use is to improve eye function in people who are slowly losing their vision. Macula is the most important part of the human eye and it’s located in the center of retina, behind the lens. Macula is responsible for visual acuity and for ability to perceive color. Luteine and zeaxanthine are pigments who show protective effect on macula, and their concentration in eye is directly proportional to their blood concentration. By aging, amounts of these pigments are reduced and that’s why it should be administered in the form of dietary supplements. Additional intake of luteine and zeaxanthin in form of dietary supplements increases macular pigment density and significantly reduces the risk of age related macular degeneration.
Maculein EXTRA soft gelatinous capsules contain luteine and zeaxanthine, beta carotene, vitamin E, C, B1, B2, B6 and B12, folic acid, zinc and bilberries extract. These active ingredients provide optimum eye protection. Maculein EXTRA capsules are rich with omega – 3 fatty acids, and these are also effective on macula protecting. Beta carotene is a provitamine and if necessary, the human body will convert it into vitamin A. It is scientifically proven that beta caroten helps prevent night blindness, photosensitivity, cataracts and macular degeneration. Vitamin E, vitamin C and zinc are strong antioxidant and they protect all body cells from the destructive effects of free radicals. Because all these features Maculein EXTRA capsules are strongly recommended as a dietary supplement for macular degeneration and cataracts, vision loss, increased exposure to UV light while working under artificial and insufficient light.

Other ingredients are: solvent (refined coconut oil and refined palm oil), a stabilizer (glyceryl monostearate), emulsifier (soybean lecithin, E322). Ingredients of the shell are: beef gelatin – Kosher and Halal quality, purified water, 70 % sorbitol, glycerol, colored iron oxide red E172, iron oxide yellow E 172 and titanium oxide E 171.
Dosage and administration
Patients should take one Maculein EXTRA capsule once a day with a meal.
