Comfrey gel effectively helps to remove the swelling and pain of bruises resulting in sprains, strains, contusions and similar conditions caused by sports and other injuries.
Composition
Comfrey gel contains comfrey root extract (Symphytum officinale L. Symphyti radix), extract of aloe (Aloe barbadiensis Mill. Aloe folium), carbomer, menthol, triethanolamine, methyl, propyl, and purified water.
Comfrey root
Comfrey root (Symphyti radix) contains allantoin, mucilage polysaccharide, phenolic acids such as rosmarinic acid, caffeic acid, glycopeptides, amino acids, triterpene saponins and other components in small amounts. Comfrey gel is used for external use, in a variety of injuries, such as contusions, distortions, sprains, joint overload and osteoarthritis.
Aloe vera
Aloe gel is colorless mucilaginous gel and its obtained from the parenchyma cells of fresh leaves of Aloe vera L. Aloe gel heal wound by simulating the activity of the macrophages and fibroblasts in the blood. Many in vitro and in vivo studies have demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity of Aloe gel. Those studies show that Aloe gel induces activity of the bradicinaseand thromboxane B2 and inhibits activity of prostaglandin F2. Aloe gel has proven to be effective for the treatment of burns and ulcers caused by radiation.
Menthool
Menthol is the main ingredient of the plant Mentha piperita L. This substance has local anesthetic properties because it acts on the nerve endings and therefore shows a very good effect of relieving pain. Menthol greatly helps with the release of the pain caused by muscle spasms. Menthol relaxes thr muscle tissue. It contributes to the elimination of the muscle pain.
Dosage and administration
Rub three to four times a day to the painful area on intact skin. Wash hands after application.
