Features and function
Horsevit gel is used for massaging joints and muscles. This product causes cooling effect, relaxes muscle tissue and improves circulation. This product is not used on damaged skin, mucous membranes or skin of children younger than two years.
Aesculus hypocastanum L.
Horse chestnut extract (Aesculus hippocastanum L.) contains escin which is a mixture of saponin, heterosides, flavonoids, sterols and tannins. Escin protects the blood vessels and their function. It also acts anti-inflammatory and eliminates free radicals. German Commission E has approved the horse chestnut for the treatment of symptoms of chronic venous insufficiency, pain and feeling of heaviness in the legs, night cramps in the calves, itching and swelling of the legs. Chestnut extract affects the reduction of the volume of the lower leg, the volume list and the ankle, pain in the leg, itching, a feeling of fatigue and tension.
Arnica extract
Arnica extract contains sesquiterpene lactone, mainly the helanalin and dihydrohelanalin and esters of these substances with acetic, isobutyric, methacrylic and other carboxylic acids. In Arnica extract we can also find diterpenes, flavonoids, alkaloids, pirolizidne, caffeic acid, and coumarin derivatives. Because of its active ingredients arnica is used in the treatment of bruises and sprains and certain inflammatory reactions caused by insect bites.
Essential oil of eucalyptus, peppermint and thyme
The most important component of essential oil of eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus L.) is cineole. This essential oil has analgesic and anti-inflammatory action. The essential oil of peppermint (Mentha piperita L.), contains several active ingredients, the most valuable is menthol. The essential oil of mint acts antirheumatic, and reduces muscle tension, relieves pain in cases of minor disorders of the skin such as itching. The essential oil of thyme (Thymus vulgaris L.) contains the active components such as thymol, carvacrol, terpenoids, glycosides. Thyme essential oil has antimicrobial, antispasmodic and antioxidant properties.
Menthool
Menthol is the main ingredient of the plant Mentha piperita L. This substance has local anesthetic properties because it acts on the nerve endings and therefore shows a very good effect of relieving pain. Menthol greatly helps with the release of the pain caused by muscle spasms. Menthol relaxes thr muscle tissue. It contributes to the elimination of the muscle pain.
Composition
Horsevit gel contains chestnut extract, arnica extract, camphor, menthol, essential oils of eucalyptus, peppermint, thyme, turpentine, water, ethanol, PEG-40 hydroxystearate, imidazolidine urea, carbomer and sodium hydroxide.
Dosage and administration
Horsevit gel apply several times a day in a thin layer on sensitive skin areas.
