Features and function
Herbifit Plantain syrup is a dietetic product, dietary supplement intended to relive cough. Mucilage from the Plantain syrup line the mucous membranes of the throat and pharynx and help to reduce cough rritation.

Plantain leaf
Ribwort Plantain leaf consists of the dried leaves of Plantago lanceolata L., Plantaginaceae. It consists not less than 1,5 per cent of total ortho–dihydroxycinnamic acid derivates, expressed as acteoside and calculated with respect to the dried drug. The characteristic constituents are mucilage polysaccharides, iridoide glycosides (principally aucubin and catalpol) and phenylethanoids (acteoside, isoacteoside and plantamajoside). Ribwort plantain is used to alleviate irritation in catarrh of the upper respiratory tract. Ribwort plantain leaf and its characteristic constituents exert anti–inflammatory, antibacterial, spasmolytic and immunostimulatory effects. The pharmacologically active constituents are considered to be mucilage polysaccharides, irridoide glycosides and phenylethanoids. German Commission E has approved use of the Ribwort plantain for catarrh of the respiratory passages, inflammation of the mucosus membranes of the mouth and throat.

Composition
100 g of Plantain syrup contains:
Ribwort plantain infusese (Plantaginis infusum 1 + 11) Plantaginis folium, Plantago lanceolata L., Plantaginaceae 36 g

Other ingredients are: sucrose preservative (methylparahydroxibensoate), Thyme tinctura (Thymi tinctura 1:5), water–alcohol solution of anise essential oil and ammonium chloride (spititus anisi aetheroleum cum ammonii chloridum), menthol, ethanol 96% and purified water.

Dosage and administration
Adults take 15 ml three times a day. Small children take teaspoon 5 ml three times a day, and infants take 2,5 ml three times a day.

Storage
Keep at temperature of 25 ºC. Close the bottle after each use.
