Features and function
Medifit syrup for expectoration is dietetic product, a dietary supplement and it's intended for expectoration and dilution of bronchial mucus. It contains Thyme tinctura and Primula root extract. Thanks to the content of Primula saponins Medifit syrup for expectoration disintegrates bronchial mucus and makes it fluidelike making it easier to cogh up. Simultaneously tincture of Thyme relieves spasms of smooth muscle in the respiratory tract.
Thyme
Thyme consists of the whole leaves of Thymus vulgaris L., Lamiaceae. It contains not less than 12 ml/kg of essential oil, of which not less than 40% is thymol and carvacrol calculated with reference to the anhydrous drug. Because of the essential oil, Thyme is used as an expectorant and bronchospasmolytic in acute and chronic bronchitis, whooping cough and generally in catarrh of the upper respiratory tract. German Commission E has approved the Thyme for treatment of listed symptoms.
Primula root
Primula root consists of the dried rhizomes and roots of Primula veris L. (syn. Primula officinalis L.). The drug contains 5–10% triterpenoid saponins, phenolic glycosides, especially primulaverin, rare sugars, sugar alcohols and small amounts of tannin. Based on the saponin content, Primula root used as secretomotoric and secretolytic expectorant in bronchitis, catarrh of the respiratory tract, coughs, colds and phlegm in the broncho–pulmonary system. German Commission E has approved the Primula root for treatment of catarrh of the respiratory tract.

Other ingredients are: honey, sucrose, sorbitol, water–alcohol solution of anise essential oil and ammonium chloride, methylparahydroxybenzoate, propylparahydroxybenzoate, purified water.
Dosage and administration
Adults take 15 ml three times a day. Small children take teaspoon 5 ml three times a day, and infants take 2,5 ml three times a day. Children under the age of 12 months can take Medifit syrup only if it’s recommended by doctor. Syrup should be kept in the mouth for a few moments and than the dose should be swallowed.
Storage
Keep at temperature of 25 ºC. Close the bottle after each use.
